Dawn's Genealogy & Printing Service
I got you from a co-worker that was moving and couldn’t take you. I ask what
kind of dog, she said a German Shepherd; I said I’ll take him even before seeing
you. You were about one year old and that your name was Max, but we already had
a dog named Max (passed away before
getting you), so we drew a name out of a hat and you became Charlie Max, later
on started calling you Charlie Buns.
The day I pick
you up was interesting, try fitting three small children, a dog cage and a big
German Shepherd in a little Fiesta car and you didn’t like car rides. That was
fun you cry the whole time. We got you home, you were fine, (I forgot to tell
Daddy) until you meet your new daddy at the door and growl at him. Come to find
out you were a lady’s dog. But you were fine afterwards you and Daddy became
best friends. But you love Sheena the most, you let her do anything to you and
you love it, she could play with your feet, bang on you and you loved it, but
when someone else tried it you showed your teeth. You also did a lot of dog
talking with Mark, he asks you a question in dog language and you would answer
him. You never like having your nails trim, but we found a way by accident, long
as Sheena rubbed your stomach, it like paralyzed you in place and I could trim
your nails, but as you got older I had to get a muzzle so that I didn’t get bit.
You always
follow me around, begging for table scraps, getting into the garbage cans,
getting in the way when it was time to get dinner. I miss that. You were sad
when Chip passed away, that made you want more loving and whimpering all the
time that we had to get you a companion after three months of it. You didn’t
like any of the male dogs at the animal shelter until you saw Leah she was the
same colors as Chip, your hair on your
back and tail went up in the air so fast , like she was the one, so we adopted
her from the animal shelter and named her Jasmine Leah. You and she became best
friends, chasing each other in the yard. You loved your blue ball, put in your
dog food; lay down with it chewing on it.
You always lay
by the door or in the yard when I was mowing the lawn or did gardening you were
always there, you like going for walks in the summer until it got hard for you
to do that anymore. You starting losing weight and your teeth were getting bad
and we started feeding you can food, but still lost the weight. You were doing
fine until Monday night when you vomited, but that was normal for you to do that
sometimes. Tuesday you didn’t eat at all and just drink water and go outside and
come back in. I knew something was up, but if you were not better before Friday
I was taking you to the vet. Wednesday had a hard time getting you to get up to
be let outside, you never made it and did it in the hallway than when outside
and turn right around and came back in. I had a bad feeling you were going to be
going from us it was a matter of when. I was going to try and hand feed you, but
never got to do it.
We all had that
feeling; Sheena and Mark spent time with you that night before you passed away.
I told myself that I was going to be there when the time came. I came back from
taking Sheena to school, you had moved from the spot where you were laying to a
better spot and you gave me a look to say I don’t have much time until I go.
Which I was there for you and told you if you have to go that we all love you
very much and will miss you. You died in my arms. It was real hard for my
daughter to find out that her best friend passed away on February 4, 2009 at
9:15 a.m. Now that you passed away to a better place it is so quiet in the house
without you. WE MISS YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!! You are one of my babies.
Love,
Mom, Dad, Mark, Kyle and Sheena
